SFYTT Sketch Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone! Well here is my very first SFYTT Challenge. I combined this sketch along with the theme from my monthly card swap from SCS which was kid's birthday. I used Happy Heart Day from Stampin' Up! and used SU More Mustard, SU Kraft as my card base and SU Certainly Celery along with some DP that I can't remember where I purchased! LOL! The Martha Stewart cupcake punch was perfect for the elephant to hold onto with his trunk. I used my white gel pen to add some sprinkles to the top of the chocolate icing! Yum! Yum!The elephant was cut out and colored using my C1 and C3 gray copics. The background was colored using my stamp pads to create the sky and the grass. I then stamped the flowers and colored them in. I used my 3/4 inch and my 1 inch circle punches to create some color behind my chocolate buttons. Enjoy and have a great week!

SCS Wednesday Sketch Challenge - SCS219

Here is my SCS Wednesday Sketch. I loved this sketch and decided to use one of my shirleys2girls stamps called Cake Baker. This is also going to my monthly stamp swap group. The challenge was to create a card without using a sentiment. I think this little cake baker says it all! I used Neenah solar white for my base card and then layered SU Old Olive and SU Pretty in Pink. I used my CB embossing folders swiss dots to add some texture. I used my Martha Stewart cornice border punch around the triangles. The image is stamped using mememto black since I colored her using my copics. I added some glitter to the candle flames and some liquid applique for the cake icing. YUMMY! It needed something else on the top so I used my sizzix daisies #2 and layers the medium and small flowers on the top and used buttons for their centers.

It's Twisted Thursday a day late!

Ok I'm a day late...
It's TWISTED THURSDAY at shirleys2girls and here's my card. This weeks twist was to add hardware to your card. To play along PLEASE visit Karolyn's Blog and check out the new digi image that the girls have done! WOW is all I can say. It's a cute little mouse holding some flowers which I used for this challenge. I used some new digi DP from My Favorite Things. The red in the background and blue in the flowers matched my SU paper real red and tempting turquoise perfectly. I layered my cute little mouse using SU Very Vanilla, SU Real Red, SU Tempting Turquoise and the image was printed on SU Very Vanilla. The little flowers were punched with the SU flower trio punch and I added just a little sparkle of rhinestones for the centers. The hardware I used 2 ways, one I added brads to both the top and the bottom of the image and in my flower and I used some wire (which you can't see well in the pic) for the stems of the flowers and tied it off with a little bow. I used my flower dots embossing folder to add some texture and then printed the image again on Neenah Classic Solar White. I cut out the mouse so that I could make her (I think it's a she :-) ) 3-d for holding the flowers. I added a strip of SU Real Red grosgrain ribbon and used my new sizzix bigz die (flower, daisies #2) for the flower. It layered as well with Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise and Real Read. Git over to Karolyn's Blog now!!! You only have until Sunday night at midnight to submit your challenge card and grab this cute little mouse.

Twisted Thursday Challenge by shirleys2girls

Wow 2 posts in one day! I'm on a roll. Here is my card for shirleys2girls Twisted Thursday challenge. The original post is on Karolyn's blog so head over there and check it out. You've got until midnight to submit. Karolyn is one of the marvelous Design Team members for shirleys2girls. My card was created using Domino's Hugs. I love their designs and especially the dog ones! I used my neenah classic solar white for the card base and then selected my dp. I added layers of SU garden green and black to compliment my dp. The twisted part of the challenge was to add scallops. I used my fiskars threading water scallop border punch in both black and SU garden green and layered the 2 together to get a nice double scallop. I ran the left edge of my card base through my cuttlebug using my border embossing folders. I layered my image using my labels 1 nestability die and rounded the corners of my white and black. I colored my image with copics and blended some highlights in her jeans and in Domino. I added a prisma flower which was also colored with the same color copic as her shirt. This was a fun card to make! Thanks shirleys2girls for a great twisted challenge.

shirleys2girls 222 Challenge

Happy Sunday and Spring is on it's way. I completed my next challenge for shirleys2girls. The challenge was to embrace the word "SPRING" using their sweet and oh so chic purse box. To see the challenge and the cute purse box click here. Well I decided with my love and passion for dogs that I would use their newly released images of domino! I love this sweet little dog! We're playing in the park on the first day of SPRING! Here's how I created my challenge.

I took a sheet of Stampin' Up! whisper white 8.5 x 11 and that was my palette. I started by taking my ink pads to create a blue sky using SU soft sky, SU baja breeze and SU pacific point. Once I got it just as I wanted I created the grass using SU old olive and SU garden green. Tried a couple of sheets to get this just how I wanted it. I've never created sky and grass using ink pads before. Works really nice. This is where I got the idea from. I used a sponge and whisper white craft ink to make my clouds. I then cut out my template of my cute little purse matching up where I wanted the grass and the sky to start. I used my word window punch to create the fence and my copics to add some roughness to it. Next I stamped my cute little dog out on neenah classic solar white and memento ink. I colored them both with my copics and then I cut both images out. The womens pants and shirt are paper pieced. I double stacked my dimensionals to give some depth in front of the fence for my images. I punched stems (new ek success punch) and flowers (SU punch) out to put behind the image but in front of the fence. I used my crop-a-dile to put the yellow centers on the flowers. I added some butterflies (martha stewart butterfly punch). Last I added a button for closure and some bright colored ribbon. I hope you like. I had a ton of fun making it!

Mojo Monday #77

It's Mojo Monday Time. I'm so excited to be posting this before the weekend. I actually had some time off of work this week and was able to work on my mojo! I love this DP by Stacy Claire Boyd. This one is called Lemon Drops. The stamp is from Stamping Bella and is called "branching out owlies" and the sentiment inside says "You're such a hoot!" I used my flower punch by Stampin' Up! and punched a chocolate chip and a gable green flow, then placed a cute brown button on top. I also used my swiss dots embossing folder to add a little texture and match the dots in the paper. To add some dimension, I cut the last owl out and put some crystal effects on their eyes to make them pop! I hope you enjoy my Mojo Monday card.

MFT Button Challenge

Here is my submission for the the MFT button challenge. I don't typically use buttons on my cards so this was a challenge for me. I decided to ink up my new Tea for Two and use the spots on the cup for my buttons. I love this tea holder card. I sent several of these out to friends at Christmas time. This set is perfect for this. I used SU certainly celery for the base of my card. I used my basic grey dp as for the inspiration of color. The buttons and regal rose match pefectly. Enjoy!

MFT Idol Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone! Well today I've been working on the MFT Idol challenge. I created this cute little invite or card using the Cupcake Flopsey and It's a cupcake kind of day. I love these 2 sets and they go very well together. The card is 4.5 by 12 and scored for the lip (1/2 inch) and then again at 5 and 10/16. I then scalloped the edge using my SU scallop border punch. I took my scor-pal and created a diamond effect for the cover and then placed little tiny rhinestones on the diamonds so give it that glitzy look. I created flopsey and his sayings so that I could have them pop up when you open the card. This was quite the challenge since I had never created a card that had a pop-up image. I decided to use several of the sentiments around Flopsey. I paper pieced the cupcake and then added some yummy chocolate glitter on top of the cupcake. Flopsey himself was colored using my copics and blending of my greys. Now that he's in place, I started to work on the bottom part of the card/invite. I used Bo Bunny DP as the base and then stamped the cupcake on Neenah Classic Solar white. Paper pieced the cupcake and colored in the chocolate for the cake and then added liquid applique as the icing. Last I cut out the cherry added a pop dot and viola! YUMMY, huh??! I printed the Cupcake birthday on SU pink passion in chocolate and used dimensionals to give it some lift.
