Belli Challenge #83 - Hearts

This weeks Belli Challenge is all about Hearts! I love hearts too! If you've never joined us over at the Belli Challenge then you need to get on over there and check it out. Great inspirations from the Fabulous Design Team!

This Challenge I did a card using a new image from Shirleys2Girls. It's called Zola Sweeps! OMG she is the the most FAB image ever. You need to head over to the store and check out the other Zola images. They all are just amazing!

Here is my card that I did this week. I used basic gray for the base card with some DP from Hobbylobby and real red! She is a digital image and I cut her out using my top note die and I distressed the edges. She's colored using copic markers with cute little hearts in the corner using a heart punch. Lastly I added some gray and red organza ribbon. The sentiment reads..."My idea of housework is to sweep the room...with one glance!" Isn't that just awesome! Hope you enjoyed my card.

So head on over to the Belli Challenge Blog for more great projects!

Twisted Thursday Challenge #39 HUGS and KISSES

Welcome to another S2G's Twisted Thursday Challenge!

Ready for this weeks challenge? We're mixing it up a bit this week. This week your mission is to create an ABC (Anything But a Card) Project and the Twist is Valentines Day! Then head on over to the Shirley's2Girls Challenge Blog and post your blog link to Mr Linky!

Ready to see my project? I used a brand spankin' new digi called Zola Hugs (DG 99). I had a hard time trying to decide what I wanted to do for this week's project. So I dusted off my nestie hearts and decided to make a cute little heart box. I cut out a little 3x3 box and attached it to the top and bottom of my nestie scalloped hearts. Grabbed some DP and covered the sides of the box and cut out a regular heart for the top. I colored my image using my copic markers and added some ribbon to the side. Enjoy!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Zola Hugs (DG 99)
Paper: Georgia Pacific white CS, DP, basic grey, real red
Ink: Digi Image
Accessories: Copic markers, nestabilities oval and regular scallop, ribbon

Don't forget to head on over to the S2G Challenge Blog and post your work! We can't wait to see what you do this week! Need some more inspiration, then check out the lovely ladies with attitude blogs!

Happy New Year and the Belli Challenge

This weeks Belli Challenge is all about Glitter and Rhinestones, MY FAV! But I bet you knew that! LOL! I decided to do something a little different and share this cute little card box that I found over at my friend Jennifer's blog. This was the Project of the Month over at The Cat's Pajama's.

Once you get going they are really easy to make and what a great gift they make. I modified Jenn's original project a little and have the instructions listed below on how I made mine.

For the nuggets...I used Avery Labels (48860) and stamped them with Basic Grey and Pacific Point ink using the Snow Swirled stamp set. Once the labels were stamped I wrapped them around the Hersey nugget. Each plastic box will hold 6 nuggets. I adhered the 6 nuggets to a 3x3 piece of basic gray card stock and inserted into the plastic box. I got the plastic boxes from The Cats Pajamas.

For the inside of the box (or card piece)..I used wrapping paper for my DP and it was cut at 5 3/4 x 2 3/4. I then added a white piece of card stock cut at 5 3/4 x 2 3/4 and used a scalloped punch along the top and bottom edge. I stamped the left side with the snow flakes in pacific point and basic gray and added my sentiment to the right side. I taped both pieces of card stock together and folded in the the center. I taped down one side to box and then taped the other side and place the other box on top of the tape. Now you have your card on the inside.

For the outside of the box...I cut the card stock at 3 1/2 x 12 and then used the same scalloped punch along each edge. I cut the DP (wrapping paper) at 2 1/4 x 12 and adhered it to punched piece. Now you can take your boxes and wrap them with the paper making sure that the tops are even. I scored mine using my fingers to give it a bit of a folded edge. I punched out a 1 3/8 size circle and folder in half on the top to hold the two pieces together. Punched 2 holes through that and inserted my ribbon. Now you have your cover for you box card.

For the front of the box... I used die cut snowflakes that I ordered from Creative Cuts and More. I painted them with white acrylic paint and then once dry painted on some mod-podge and sprinkled with glitter. Oh my they came out so nice! Very Sparkly! I used a crystal glitter but you could use any color. I attached a button with some ribbon to the center and then used glue dots to attach to the front of my outside covering.

I hope that you enjoyed these. You can check out the original instructions HERE. A lot of fun to make and these are definitely a keeper for me. So many different things to do with these cute little boxes for gifts.

So head on over to the Belli Challenge Blog for more great projects!

Happy New Year! and Shirleys2Girls NEW DT!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe Holiday! Can you believe that it's 2010???!!! Wow!Our holiday was very quiet. We spent Christmas here at my home with my sister, her DH and my mom and dad. My dad has been fighting cancer since last February and we're hoping and praying that things are better for him in 2010. Our New Year was just DH and I. We rented a movie and had pizza. No going out for us! Gosh when you get older going out on New Years eve just doesn't seem as fun as when you are younger! LOL! We ended up renting a movie (The Ugly Truth). What a funny funny movie!

I wanted to share with you that shirleys2girls has selected their new Design Team for January-June of 2010! Wow it was difficult going through all of the fabulous submissions but it had to be done so we narrowed it down to 13 FABULOUS Ladies! Listed below are the new 2010 Ladies with Attitude for Shirleys2girls! Let's give them a HUGE round of applause!

You will see their work this week on Thursday, January 7th when S2G's Twisted Thursday returns! We've got some FANTASTIC images for Valentines Day that you will NOT want to miss. So head on over to the S2G Challenge Blog and play along with us this week and don't forget to check all the new DT's FAB work!
